With a foot of snow on the ground in th" hills it is almost impossible to get wood. Tonsorial artist Rothmeier tried for four days to tempt someone to tackle the job of hauling some dead logs from the hillsides, but all in vain. Cashier Street, it is expected, keeps a lump of coal in the bank vault for emergency, a sort of "safety "safe-ty first" measure. The teachers at the schools have been requested to be careful in the use of the fuel by close attention to radiators. Local dealers are doing all in their power to secure shipments of coal, but the lack of it is blamed entirely to car shortage. |
