Fred was the winner of the second prize in a de-batin.g de-batin.g contest held there. Miss Idonna White had enter-tained enter-tained at her home. Those enjoying enjoy-ing the evening were Miss Lapreal Clements, Miss Ardath Johnson, Mrs. Robert Squires, Spencer Schow, Herbert Thomas, J. Mackey and Mike White. Mrs. Walter James and daugh- ter Thekla had gone to Salt Lake where Miss Thekla was to go to Seattle and another daughter, Helen, was to be met, after spending spend-ing a year at college in Colorado Springs, Colorado, i The .Sloan and company store had been purchased by C. A. Arlington Ar-lington and E. C. Bird. The' store was to be all cleaned and painted up and was to carry a large stock of first class merchandise. Actual construction work had begun on the much wanted Puffer lake road. , The road was to be built by combined efforts of the county and forest service. The total cost was to be about $50,000. The I. O. O. F. had elected the following officers for the new term: William Cochrane, N. G.; C. C. McErn, V. G.; Fred Jefferson, secretary; O. F. Hubbell, treasurer and H. C. Griffiths, trustee. |
