A very fine program wag given Monday evening. Each troop furnished fur-nished several numbers, which made a splendid evening's entertainment enter-tainment for the Scouts and public. pub-lic. Various competitive games were played which required the skill and knowdedge of knot tying and estimating. Also, a softball tournament was held and the Milford Mil-ford troop emerged as tbe champions. champ-ions. All the Scouts should start now on planning for the summer camp which will be held in the Beaver mountains during the week of July 13 to 18. It is urged that the boys who were not able to attend the district camporee make an effort ef-fort to spend a week at the summer sum-mer camp. This camp will be council-supervised and it is hoped a number of the neighboring districts dis-tricts will also join the .Beaver district during that week. Our boys were again disappointed disappoint-ed last Friday when they were notified that the district camporee was posponed, due ot the continued stormy weather. But after all preparations had been made for the second 'time', the boys decided to spend Friday and Saturday as a troop outing. They journeyed to Minersville canyon, and enjoyed the two days in fishing, swimming, hiking and camping. A number of them were also working on the various requirements for advancement advance-ment to the higher ranks in Scouting. |
