Mr. Penniston of Wisconsin has arrived in Delta and is filling the position at the Delta Land & Water office formerly occupied by Mrs. Onderdonk. Prof. Gilbertson at the head of the county agent work of the Agricultural Dep't. was here the last of last week looking over the work of county agent Welch and studying farm conditions, Mrs. Eleanor Onderdonk, who has been an office employe of the Delta Land and Water Co. for more than a year now, tendered her resignation and left last Wednesday for Salt Lake City. A. Ackerman, who has been living on the bench during the summer while he has been looking look-ing after the interests of the Sevier Land & Water Co., as watermaster, will move back to the ranch the last of the week. Ira Heffelman, who has a farm just north' of Woodrow, came up from California last Saturday to look over his holdings and make arrangements to move his family onto his place. He expects to bring the family and a car of goods up about the middle of next month. i lOCAlpI Next Monday, Sep. 4th being ( a legal holiday, the Delta State Bank will be closed. 31-1 Mrs. E. Pierce returned last Saturday from Washington county coun-ty where she has been visiting the past month. Miss Isabell Barlow, who has been assisting at the postoffice during the summer, has returned return-ed to her home in Salt Lake and will attend high school the coming com-ing winter. B. E. Cooper returned home from Salt Lake the last of last week with a new 1917 model Overland. The car is a beauty and will be used in Mr. Cooper's Auto Livery. Miss Elsie Jacobs and Billie Van de Vanter stole the march on the public and their friends last week and went to Fillmore and were married. We wish them much happiness. Arthur S. Fell of El Centre, Cali., is here this week looking over the country with a view of purchasing some land and bringing bring-ing in a number of sugar beet raisers from California. Mr. and Mrs. Parley Steele, who were married at Salt Lake Wednesday of last week, returned return-ed to Delta Saturday and are now comfortably situated in their new home, the Copening residence. resi-dence. Mrs. R. H. Becknell and daughter, Luella, leave today for Salt Lake City where they will remain until about the middle mid-dle of December when they will be joined by Mr. Becknell and all will go to Mr. Becknell's old home at Goshen, Ind., to spend the holidays. Gardner and family, went to Payson last Tuesday evening for a week's visit. George Billings is operating opera-ting the Delta Picture show while Mr. Gardner is away. The Mistello Bee Hive girls gave a shower last Saturday evening to Mrs. Parley Steele, who is the keeper of that swarm, and presented her with a beautiful beauti-ful set of silverware and other nice presents. Mrs. A. M. McPherson underwent under-went an operation for the removal re-moval of her tonsils lust Tuesday, Tues-day, Dr. Broaddus performing the operation. Mrs. McPherson is getting along nicely. The removal re-moval of the tonsils is considered one of the major operations among the medical professions and Dr. Broaddus is to be con gratulated on the success he is meeting with in this line. Misses Sylvia and Viola Turnei left last Monday for Dixie lane where they will put in their time for the next three weeks visiting and pertaking of the lusious fruit grown there. Syliva is the mainstay of the Chronick office and besides being one oi Delta's most lovable young ladies is the best lady typo we ever hac in an office for the experience she has had.
