Show LYNNDYL , . , Rachel Simpson A large crowd attended the plays presented by the Delta High School and it seems each year surpasses the last. Mrs. Wallace Allen and Ruby went to Salt Lake City Saturday and met Mrs. Klmge, now of Los Angel-ees, Angel-ees, who was on her wav to Omaha, Oma-ha, Neb. Mrs. May Miller went to Salt Lake City Monday for a few days. Miss (ieorgia Dutson spent Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday in Salt Lake visiting vis-iting her mother. Mrs. Neva Harvey, Olenna and Ber I Roper are spending a few-days few-days in Salt Lake. Ber 1 will go on to Ogden and visit with Mry-leen Mry-leen Elliott. C. L Majers returned from Kansas Kan-sas City after having spent a week visiting his niece. He is making his home with M. E. Majers. A very lovely dinner was served Saturday at the Roy Clark home to 11a Christensen, Mery Johnson, and W. B. Billingsley of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Bill Kenross of Milford and mother, Sarah Ann Wiley of Provo, are visiting at the home of M-S Carl Benson and Rudger Wiley. Mrs. Louise Clark and son Frank-ie Frank-ie left for Salt Lake Wednesday, after having spent the winter with her parents, M-S C. E. Simpson. Her husband Durward Clark will meet them in Salt Lake. He has a medical discharge from the Navy. M-S Sill Hepworth, Mahala and Arlo, spent their vacation visiting in Fillmore. M-S Spencer Nielson entertained the rook club Friday evening at their home in Leamington. Those present were M-S Clead Nielson, M -S Fred Greathouse, M-S Lile Johnson, John-son, M-S Earl Greathouse, Tressa Terry. Special guests were Mrs. Adelia Coleman, M-S Jay Nielson, and M-S Alton Biglow. First prize for high score were Margie Great-house, Great-house, and Lile Johnson, low Laura Lau-ra Nielson and Alton Biglow. Mrs. Clead Nielson has taken her son Merrill to Cedar City for medical med-ical attention. Her small son Allen Al-len also accompanied them. The junior class held their rose festival at the home of Thelma Clark Tuesday evening, the rooms were beuati fully decorated with red and white roses. The girls wore formals and rose corsages and presented pre-sented roses to their mothers. Present Pres-ent were Gladys T3anks, Mrs. Alma Banks, Donna Nielson, Eunice Nielson, Niel-son, Eldonna Coleman, Adelia Coleman, Cole-man, Imogene Greathouse, Margie Greathouse, Thelma Clark and Mery Me-ry Johnson. A delicious luncheon was served on tables decorated in red and white. Word was received that Sgt. Tom Semmons is in the 7th Army in France. He is the brother of Art Semmons and Opal Wagman, former for-mer teachers here. M-S Eddie Sorenson had Mrs. Sorenson's father, Dr. R. J. Sutton of Oakley, Idaho; Dr. R. P. Sutton, of Utah Copper Co., Magna; Pfc Marion R. Button of Bushnell hospital. hos-pital. A breakfast was served at the Sorenson home to the visitors and the following guests: M-S Roy Clark, Ila Christensen and Mery Johnson. Mrs. Effie Allen and Ila Christensen Christen-sen returned from Salt Lake Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Mrs. Thelma Clark remained remain-ed until Thursday and visited with her sister, Mrs. Leora Semmons of Pocatello, and Mrs. Opal Wagman of Salt Lake. Mae Miller also came home Thursday. Merlyene Elliott of Ogden joined the Lynndyl girls Wedensday and Thursday. Mrs. C. E. Simpson returned home after visiting in Salt Lake for a week with Mrs. Mary Smith. They also were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Red Clark. M-S Ed Hart have gone to make their home in Oregon. He was employed em-ployed at the rounhouse and also had a shoemaker's shop. Pvt Lawrence Bowers, son of M-S M-S Chester Bowers is home on furlough. fur-lough. Vee Talbot, who was wounded in France, is spending his furlough with his mother. Bill Simpson wrote his mother to thank his many friends in Lynndyl who sent him Christmas cards as he is too busy chasing Krauts to write them personallly. He and nine other Yanks were trapped behind be-hind the main enemy lines for six days but all were unharmed. Bill is a radio tech in the 1st Army. |
