Show Farm Labor Talk Scheduled at DHS Thurs., March 15. A labor hearing will be held on Thursday afternoon, March 15, at 2:00 p. m. at the Delta high school. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss farm labor wages and other problems pertaining to agricultural agri-cultural labor. Farmers who are interested in-terested in hiring Mexican nationals nation-als for beets and general farm work are requested to be present. Any farmers of the County who may want to use Mexican labor during the year should be present. Laborers who intend to work on farms this year should also be present. pre-sent. The purpose of the labor hearing is to get the reaction of both the employer and employee as to what wages should be paid. Whatever is determined at this meeting will be sent on to Washington. The wage set up, will be the wage that will be written into the contract between be-tween our government and the Mexican government for help used in our County. Any farmer or group of farmers in the same neighborhood who would like to contract Mexican nationals na-tionals are urgently requested to make their wants known as soon as possible, to either Mr. Glen E. Stewart of Delta or to the County Agent's office at Fillmore. If any farmer or group of farmers want Mexican help before May 15, and want to sign contracts for this help, they must let us know before March 10. |
