Knight Credited With Jap Plane in Pacific Area Operating from aboard an aircraft air-craft carrier in the Pacific, Marine First Lieutenant James L. Knight, wm 23, a Delta fighter pilot, recently bagged his first Jap plane. Knight dove on the Jap twin-engined bomber which was attempting attempt-ing to attack a Leatherneck Task Force in the south China Sea. s Since assigned carrier duty in in September, 1944, the flying Leatherneck has participated in 9 attacks on enemy bases at Formosa, Formo-sa, Hainan, Luzon, French Indo-China Indo-China and the Nansei Islands. He is the son of Mrs. Nora Knight, of Delta, Utah.
