Show Engagement Announced Of Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Bryant B. Larsen announce the engagement of their daughter, Edith, to Glen S. Harder, of Leamington. The marriage will take place June 12, 1946 in the Manti temple. Miss Larson has been operator for the railrqad for the past two years at Lynndyl, and Mr. Harder has recently returned from the service ser-vice and is now farming in Leamington. Leam-ington. Capt. Grant Seely, from Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio, is spending a leave in Delta with his wife, Mrs. Salome Seeley. Captain Seeley arrived ar-rived here Monday night. Mrs. Thelma Anderson from San Diego visited here during the week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Riding. She made the trip wiih Mr. and Mrs. Stevens, who were visiting Mrs. Steven's daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Wanda Nielson, in Leamington. Leam-ington. Mrs. Goorge Dobson from Salt Lake City,, and son Floyd Whicker, Whick-er, and granddaughter, Nola Ree Whicker, spent the week end visiting visit-ing in Delta and Hinckley. Mrs. Whicker is visiting in Hinckley with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Whicker. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bishop have returned to Delta after spending the winter in Galveston, Texas, on an L. D. S. mission. They arrived in Salt Lake City three weeks ago and after several days there returned re-turned to Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. M. Jensen went to Bryce Canyon Sunday. Mr. Jensen reports that so far as he could observe, the lodge was open for business, or will be immediately. immediate-ly. Mr. and Mrs. L. Morrison have returned from California to spend ' the summer here. Laf e says con-, con-, ditions in California evidence much unrest, and a healthy black market mar-ket flourishes. ; Mr. and Mrs. John Hannifin were visitors to Max and family last week. John had been to St. George as a state delegate to a firemens convention, and was on his way back home. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mc Neil of Kamas, Utah, spent Sunday in Delta visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wal-lace Whicker. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Tisher, of Salt Lake City, made the trip with them. Mr. and Mrs. Mc Neil are the parents of Mrs. Whicker Whic-ker and Mrs. Tisher. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Pace and son Nick returned last Wednesday from a trip into Idaho, where they visi-ited visi-ited Challis, Stanley, Ketchum, and drove through the Craters of the Moon, on through Pocatello, Preston, Pres-ton, and returned here. Jos. D. Mercer (Senior) was operated op-erated on Tuesday on Salt Lake City for mastoid trouble. Frank Beckwith, Sr., had the pleasure and honor of lecturing with his lantern slides before the Masonic lodge in Eureka Tuesday evening, giving scenic views taken tak-en afoot and by airplane over the state, with special reference to the attractions and oddities of Juab and Millard counties. He was accompanied ac-companied by N. E. Ward who is passing into the order of Masons. Rain last week of .39 of an inch. Rain fell on three days. (Snow on the Oak City mountains moun-tains Wednesday morning, on May 29th.) Jay Cash spent Sunday in Delta, returning that night to Springville. His wife and small daughter Kar-em Kar-em went with him. Mrs. Cash has spent two months at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. L. King, on account of ill health. Her health is now much improved. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Snow and son, Harold, are spending the week end in Salt Lake City, and Memorial Day in Logan. |
