Show Funeral Services Held For Echo Sampson Cook Funeral services were held in the Delta first ward on Friday, May 24, at 2 p. m. for Mrs. Echo Sampson Cook, wife of Lew Cook, of Delta, whose death occurred on Tuesday, May 22. The services were under the direction of L. N. Nickle, and conducted by Bishop A. O. Gardner. The opening prayer was given by James M. Talyor, followed by a song by the ladies trio "One Fleeting Fleet-ing hour," Norma Hannifin, hel-ma hel-ma Black and Ora Gardner, with Norma Wright accompanying, he first speaker was Lorenzo Christen-sen Christen-sen whose talk was followed by the male quartet, Eldon Sorenson, Ansell Hall, Dr. M. E. Bird and Evan Ev-an Gardner, who sang"I Know that My Redeemer Liveth." Anthony E. Stephenson was the second speaker. speak-er. He was followed by a mandolin mando-lin and guitar seleetion"Whispering Hope, "by Mr. and Mrs. Skeem. The third speaker was Orvil Jeffery, and Bishop Gardner followed, with remarks. The closing musical number num-ber was a vocal solo, "That Wonderful Wonder-ful mother of mine," by Eldon Sorenson, Sor-enson, accompanied by Norma Wright. The closing prayer was offered of-fered by Hamilton McCullough. Burial was in the Delta cemetery, and the grave was dedicated by George Sampson. |
