Show Delta High School Graduates 74 Students in 194S Edith Anderson Awarded Edith L. Finlinson Medal j . Wednesday night. May 22. sev- enty-four graduates of the Delta high school received their diplomas diplo-mas at the commencement exercises exer-cises in the auditorium. This is among the largest number of graduates gra-duates since the first class of 1923, although not the largest, as classes class-es of seventy-five and eighty have been graduated in previous years. The program for commencement was: Invocation, Leslie Haycock; chorus, "Come Where the Lillies Bloom"; Salutatory, Grant Stucki; "The Challenge of the Future" "The Cultural Challenge" by Deneee Greathouse. "The Economic Chalenge, Robert Nielson. "The Social Challenge" Don Killpack. Saxophone solo, "Souvenir," Ladd Black; "The Spiritual Challenge," Edith Anderson. "The Scientific Challenge," Kimball Kim-ball Hansen. "The Chalenge of the Future" Summary Bruce Hilton Ladies trio. "Just a Memory, Marion Ma-rion Moody, Verla Barben, Ramona Finlinson; Reading, "The Happy Prince," Ebarbara Wright; Remarks Supt. A. M. Maughan; Presentation of the Graduates, J. H. Snow; A-warding A-warding of Diplomas, Joseph D. Mercer; Male quartet, "Class Fare-' well," Ladd Black, Joe Moody, Merlin Mer-lin Forster and Ralph Barney. . Benediction, Martha Adams. Scholarships were awarded to Denece Greathouse to the University Univer-sity of Utah; Bruce Hilton, with Edith Anderson, alternate, to the Brigham Young University Robert Nielson and Grant Nielson to the U. S. A. C. at Logan. , Awards were ' made at follows: Edith L. Finlinson Award, presented present-ed to Edith Anderson by Rich Finlinson; Fin-linson; Anthony E. Stephenson a-ward a-ward presented to Bruce Hilton by ' Maiben Stephenson; Danforth ; Foundation Awards, presented to Rosalynd George and Joe Moody, by Supt. A. H. Maughan; All-A-round athletic Award, presented to -D. Ray Fuller by Golden H. Black. |
