Show Is Hostess To Rook Club Mrs. Reed Turner was hostess to the Delta Rook Club at her home on Thursday evening. Club members mem-bers were Mrs. Martha Christensen, Elaine Knight, Carole Schlappi, Frances Whicker, Alicia Jackson, Claice Nielson, Sylvia Payne, Jlar-jorie Jlar-jorie Gardner, Nellie Clark, Agnes Tllen, Donna Sorensen, Lillian Warnick, War-nick, and Zerma Schlappi. Guests were Mrs. Martha Dutson, and Mrs. Rayda Knikht. High scores were hedl by Martha Christensen and Martha Dutson, and the low by Mrs. Gardner. Dr. A. L. Iiglesby, from Fruita, and H. V. Gore from Richfield came to Delta last Saturday to gather geodes and other rock specimens in this area a hobby with both of the men. The hottest day of last week was 99, on the 31st. Glen Horton stepped on a nail in a board, .which has made him quite lame. He is using every precaution pre-caution against any serious results. Dr. Burgess will not be in Delta August 13th due to the death of his father. Mrs. Lulu C. Allred and Vada Allred have returned from Kansas City, Mo., where they have been for the past two months visiting Lt. and Mrs. Glenn Allred. Misses Kathryn and Jean Pace went to Salt Lake City Euesday. Jean will return from there to her home in McGill after a visit here, and Kathryn will spend several days in the city before returnning home. Lorraine Pearson, the daughter of M-S Stanley Pearson, of Fillmore, visited in Delta with her aunt, La Juana Pearson, and cousin, La Rae Chesley for the past week. Mrs. Scott Chesley and Mrs. Dale Pearson, and their mother, Mrs. Emil Pearson, attended funeral services in Meadow Wednesday afternoon, aft-ernoon, for William A. Labrum, an uncle of Mrs. Pearson. Mrs. Virginia Wisdom of Los Angeles, An-geles, is visiting here with her sister, sist-er, Mrs. June Hinckley. M-S Ed Schaffner are visiting in Delta with their mother, Mrs. Victoria Vic-toria Jensen, and members of the family. Mr. Schaffner, who was a sergeant in the air forces, has been released from the service on a medical discharge. He has been hospitalized for injuries received in accidents while on duty in the states. Ward Moody and Mrs. E. L. Moody went to Payson Wednesday to bring E. L. Moody home from the hospital, where he has been treated treat-ed for the past several weeks. La Rae Gardner, who has been visiting in Delta with Elizabeth Moody, returned this week to her home in American Fork. Francis Anderson returned to his home in Oak City, after being in the Delta hospital for a month ill with rheumatic fever. M-S Dee Boothe from Lark, Utah, are visiting in Delta this week. |
