Proves Ponil Is $4od Investment Mr. Willis Dutson of Oak City has the following to say about his overnight storage pond: "Since building a four acre foot overnight storage pond three years ago, I have been able to irrigae more than twice as much land with my low irrigation water. Af-ter the pond is lined with clay to reduce seepage losses, I be-lieve that I'll be able to irrigate even more land with this small t..nn than T am Hninp- now. In addition, the crops are producing more, and, last but not least, I can get a good night's rest instead of staying up to nurse a small stream of water." Mr. Dutson is working closely with the Millard Soil Conservation District in carrying out a conser-vation plan on his farm. Some of the practices included in this plan are: Leveling all of the irrigated land, building another storage re-servoir, constructing .headgates, -- - niantins; an irrigated pasture for his dairly herd. .,ir. Dutson was appointed by fie supervisors of Millard Soil Con servation District to act as their representative for Lynn dyl, Leamington and Oak City.
