Show Sisters Killed, Husbands Injured in Nevada Wreck William R. Home, 66, Clearfield, is in a Las Vegas, Nev., hospital in an extremely critical condition with injuries received in an automobile auto-mobile accident Friday morning 12 miles south of Las Vegas The same accident killed his wife, Mrs. Phyllis Halladay Home, 65 and her sister, Mrs. Ellen Ann Halladay Mildenhall, 79 of Provo. Mr. Home is a brother of Mrs. Edna Workman, of Delta. He and his wife and sister were on their way to Delta to visit Mrs. Workman Work-man and family when the accident acci-dent occurred. They were returning return-ing to Utah after a visit in Los Angeles with a brother of Mr. Home there. Wrecked By Whirlwind According to Salt Lake daily newspapers Saturday, the car over turned 8 times on U. S. Highway 91 and rolled 731 feet before coming com-ing to a stop. Mrs. Workman talked talk-ed Sunday with members of the family and learned that Mr. Home became conscious long enough on Saturday night to tell what caused caus-ed the accident. He said they were travelling at a moderate rate of speed in a high wind, when a whirlwind caught the car and whipped it completely out of his control. The car turned over and over and then came to rest on four wheels and rolled along the highway, as noted not-ed by investigating officers. Mr. Home again lapsed into unconsciousness uncon-sciousness following his brief talk. Mr. Home had been associated with the Sunset , mortuary at Clearfield from 1944 until last summer when he retired. Before that he was a mortician at Richfield Rich-field for many years. He had made several visits in Delta with his sister here during the past years. His two sons, Seth and Phill Home of Arlington, Va., arrived in Salt Lake City Sunday to wait their mother's funeral services. A daughter, Mrs. Deane Butterworth of Salt Lake City, was in Las Vegas Ve-gas with her father, going there upon word of the accident. unerai services tor Mrs. Milden hall were held in Provo on Tuesday. Tues-day. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Workman attended from Delta. Services for ' Mrs. Home are being arranged. Reports Tuesday on Mr . Home were that his condition was still critical. He had been given nine blood transfusions on Sunday and one on Monday. |
