BISHOP MERKLUY ' A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS MAN Bishop N. W. Merkley was born at St. Charles, Bear Lake County, Idaho, whero he spent his boyhood days. After completing the eighth grades of tho public schools in his home town, he came to Logan and commenced studying at the B. Y. C. While at tho Logan Collego he took an active part In athletics and v," alway sfound trying to uphold tho standard of his school, graduating I from the B. Y. C. In 1900 ho accepted accept-ed a position with tho Amalgamated Sugar Company and continued in their employment for ten years, after af-ter which tlmo tho Beneficial Llfo Insurance) Company of Salt Lako City came along with a good position for Bishop Merkley. After spending two years In tho lnsuranco field ho was persuaded by tho Cache Auto Company Com-pany to tako charge of their local house. Ho accepted this management in August 1917, and after checking X. W. MIIKKLKY up tho business dono in tho first four months ho has placed thirty-, five Ford cars In Cacho County, which shows that ho Is ever looking for business and will mako good in any field, In tho ecclesiastical field Bishop Morkloy lias always boon found ready to work.
