These, with high prices for all, we havo produced and higher prices for all wo consume seems to put tho "go" Ino everybody. Thq terrors of this cruel war, the atrocities of a .brutal Kaiser that have been thrust upon a peaco-lov-ing, law abiding, thrifty, happy fraternal fra-ternal people, as wo are, Is a burden wo were unprepared to oven expect, a calamity wo had hoped against but now It is hero wo are going to resist it with all of the powor of trim Amoricans and all tho patriotism that noblo ddscondants of truo Americans can possibly rally. To a people cradled cra-dled in freedom for a coutury and a. half ovon tho thoughts of autocracy and Kaiser Vandalism aro unbearable unbear-able and all that Is loft us In this world today Is to resist it, and resist I It wo will, even to tho last cent, thoj last loof and tho last man. Thank heaven, our farmers, dairymen, dairy-men, stockmen, havo money this year Its a blessing wo appreciate, a bloss-Jug bloss-Jug wo need In this hour of action and stress. C. Tonny & Co.,( as tho leading mercantile Institutions report business good although extromo high prices ou many articles and tho continual con-tinual advance make profit making very difficult as each Is always reluctant re-luctant to advancso for fear the other oth-er will not. However, when It comes to careful economical management, up to date well kept, well chosen stocks of modern merchandise, and the valuo thoy glvo for tho money they recelvo theso stores aro not afraid of comparison with any mercantile mer-cantile houso In tho country.
