Show Smithfield News. SMITIDFIELD, June 5.--On Fridny night Inst, the annual bull 4iml banquet of the alumni association asso-ciation closed the season's work. Nearly three hundred people were in attendance and did justice to well filled tables attractively decorated with cut flowers and the following menu served to a queens taste. Boiled ham, chicken, bread and butter, potato chips, cheese, radishes, ra-dishes, olives, potato salad, fruit salad, lemon pie, mahogany and nut cake, tea, eofl'e?, and ice cream. At a table specially prepared for the graduates sat A. H, Chambers Cham-bers with his twenty four graduates. gradu-ates. . V. Larson with his eighteen pupils completing the ninth grade sat at the next table Parents and friends of education looked on this picture with pride nnd satisfaction. Much comment is heard about the services held on Decoration Day in the cemetery. An exeel-i lent program was rendered nnd the singing furnished by the second sec-ond ward choir was beautiful, a resolution was passed hy tho assembly as-sembly pledging their support for the establishment of n water system sys-tem for the cemetery. The city council in session on Monday last discussed the Fourth of July celebration, cele-bration, and decided to celebrate tho day and donated .$35 toward tho occasion. Miss Linda Gutke of Shelley, Idaho., is visiting her brother Joe nnd friends., Mrs. M. Tho voting resulted in twenty nine votes in favor of turning it over and twenty votes in favor of retaining it., Mrs. Mary Oriflith served a tempting lunch to the friends and plnymntes of Master llobcrt on Saturday last, the occasion being his ninth birthday. Mrs. Holbrook nnd son, Mrs. Wallace Cragun, Gilbert Sweeten and wife, Miss Alberta Sweeten, all of Holbrook, Ida., and Messrs Elbert Harlow of Fnrmington and Oweif Sweeten of Salt Lake, spent Sunday last with the Cragun Cra-gun family. All the horsemen of Cache valley val-ley are cordially invited to at-attend at-attend a meeting which will be held next Saturday June 6th at 2 j). m. in the commercial club room. The purpose of this meeting meet-ing is to lorgnnize a horscmnn's association. All interested in horses should make it a point to bo at this meeting. Nearly every dancer turned out to the ball after thebanquet and had n time never to be forgotten, our new brass band played and certainly could jilease the most fastidious.
