Show Impact study planned for Forest road IYrest Supervisor Alvin F. Wright today announced the appointment of an Interdisciplinary Interdis-ciplinary study team assigned to study the need for, and the environmental Impacts of, the construction of a new road across the east slope of Boulder Boul-der Mountain between Boulder and Grover, Utah. Team members Include a Soil Scientist, Landscape Arch-Itect, Arch-Itect, Engineer, two District Rangers and a Forester. They will consider all factors which affect this road and its Impacts Im-pacts and will then prepare an environmental Statement for review of the public and other agencies. lAs part of the study, a series ser-ies of three public listening sessions have been scheduled to receive pertinent facts from Individuals, or organizations concerning this study. Representatives Repre-sentatives of the study team will be available to receive statements at the following times and places: Loa, February 22, 1973 at the Courthouse from 4 to 7 pjn. Cedar City, February 27, 1973 at the Forest Supervisor's Office, Of-fice, 500 South Main Street from 4 to 7 p.m. Escalante, March 1, 1973 at the Escalante High School Media Center, from 4 to 7 p.m. Supervisor Wright stressed In his announcement of these Public Listening Sessions that they will not be mass meetings, meet-ings, nor will they be vote gathering sessions, hut will be an opportunity for you to sit down on an Individual basis to present your views and reasons for your position to members of the team preparing pre-paring this statement. A permanent record of statements state-ments will be made for future reference and use. If unable to attend any of these three listening sessions written comments will be received re-ceived until March 5, 1973. Written statements should be mailed to the Forest Supervisor, Super-visor, Dixie National Forest, 500 South Main Street, Cedar City, Utah. |
