Cedar High wrestling team completed regular league activity this past week and will enter Region competition at Millard Mil-lard High School Friday and Saturday. Team members who will compete are, kneeling, left to right: Mark Morrison, Brent Goodman, Ken Moss Craig Rollo, Theron Heap, Dan Jacks, Brian Terry. Bedmen prepare for wrestling tourney has advanced to the state meet the two previous years. Dan Huimphery in the unlimited division is the only other un defeated member of the Redman Red-man squad. He will also take a 18-0 record into the Region competition. Others who could pick up either first or second place laurels Include Jim Callison at 175 seeded second In the Region; Brent Goodman, 105, seeded second; Mark Morrison, at 98 seeded third and Vic Sundquist, seeded second. Others who will represent the Redmen at the various weights and their seeded positions posi-tions are as follows: Ken Moss, 112, seeded 4th. Theron Heaps, 126, seeded fifth. Dan Jack, 132, seeded fourth. Brian Terry, 138, seeded 3rd. Steve Moss, 155, seeded 4th. At 167 Mike Metherell is the leading entry for the Red-men Red-men with a league record of 4 and 4 and seeded third, but may not participate owing to the search now going on for his father who is believed downed in northern Nevada in a small aircraft. Arnie Graff, who has been wrestling second man in this weight ' throughout the year, may be called on to fill the position, Coach Pensis indicated. 'i. Cedar High School will participate par-ticipate Friday and Saturday In the Region Eight Wrestling Tournament to be hosted by Millard High School at Fill, more. Four sessions are being planned at the Region meet with two separate divisions for Class A and Class AA, according ac-cording to Cedar High coach John Pensis. Delta Rabbits will go Into the AA competition as the favorites fav-orites to pick off the team victory followed by Millard and the Redmen as contenders contend-ers for that title. Opening session of the meet Is set for Friday at 1 p.m. and the second session will be that evening at 7:30 p.m. Saturday similar sessions are also planned although some changes chan-ges in times may be made to accomodate potential wrestle-backs, wrestle-backs, which are extra match- est in the competition.,. From Region, first and second sec-ond place finishers will be given the right to advance on to the State AA finals to be held the following week in Cedar City and the State Class A finals which will 'be hosted by Panguitch. Coach Pensis Is hoping that the Redmen will advance from five to six into the state finals next week. Tap contenders from the Redmen will be Craig Rollo wrestling at 119 who has compiled com-piled a record of 18 wins and no losses this season. Rollo |
