Show Parowan Stake, First and Second Wards to launch building program The Parowan First and Second Sec-ond LDS Wards in Parowan are making preparations to launch a building project to provide Parowan Stake and those two wards with additional addi-tional facilities and rooms. Bishop Stephen R- Adams of the First Ward tells me that plans have been made and approved by the Presiding Presid-ing Bishops Office of the Church to provide the follow, ing additions for both the wards and stake: Foremost will be new quarters quar-ters for the Relief Societies, on ground level by building out to the south behind the present structure This is to relieve re-lieve the ladies of traversing the steps, both up and down which they now have to do. Also in the new wing will be two class rooms, offices for both ward bishops and both ward clerks New facilities for the stake will be an office for the stake presidency, stake clerk, a meeting room for the high council, and a new baptismal font. The present Relief Society quarters will be turned into quarters for the Boy Scouts and priesthood groups. The banquet hall will be the Junior Jun-ior Sunday School section and an additional class room. The present Boy Scout room will be the meeting room for the high council. Included in improvements will be providing electrical outlets in all class rooms not now having them and addition addi-tion of other conveniences. etboinga....wvCth,me Plans hav been approved, and fund drives are going forward for-ward in both Wards. We under lerstand that the local parti-cipation parti-cipation will be between $52,000 and $55,000 with the church to provide the remainder remain-der amount, approximately $125,000, Bishop Adams states that they must have $26,000 on hand before construction can begin or contract let. |
