Show Redmen post 61-36 win over Delta; tackle Tigers The Cedar High School Red-men Red-men turn the corner for the last leg of the Region Eight Class 2A basketball race with a one game lead over the Dixie Flyers following their convincing 61-36 victory over Delta Friday evening. Coach Dick Hobbs and his Redmen going' into the second half of play in league competition with a perfect record of four wins and no losses. They begin the second half of play Friday night when they travel to Hurricane to tangle with the Tigers. In other league action tne Dixie Flyers will be hosted by Delta and Millard takes a bye from the league wars. Against the Rabbits Friday the Redmen turned in an outstanding defensive performance completely com-pletely dominating the Delta crew from start to finish. The unselfish crew, divided the scoring honors with Coby Leavitt leading the way with 16 followed by Steve Hair with 11, and Robert Shirts with 10. But it was the tenacious defense of the Redmen that highlighted the battle. The stiffning defense, coupled with the unselfish offense have made the Redmen one of the most potent teams in the state this year. |
