Show ELLEN H. ARMSTRONG Ellen Armstrong succumbs; services held Funeral services for Ellen Hunter Armstrong, 88, were held Thursday, Aug. 2 in the Cedar Twelfth Ward Chapel. She died of natural causes July 29 at Blackfoot, Idaho. She was born Aug. 22, 1884, at Mancus, Colo, a daughter of David Murie Hunter and Sara Jane Urie. She came to Cedar City with her parents where she received her education and married William F. Armstrong, June 26, 1906 in the St. George LDS Temple. They farmed at Enoch until his retirement in 1952 when they moved to Brigham City. He died in 1965. Since that time Mrs. Armstrong had lived with her children in Utah and Idaho. She had been residing with her daughter in Basalt since July 19. Family prayer was offered by Francis W. Matheson. Invocation Invoca-tion was also by Mr. Matheson. Speaker was J. Stanford Jones with a tribute by Lillian A. Grimshaw and remarks by George W. Grimshaw. Benediction Benedic-tion was by Ronald Fielding and the dedication of the grave at the Cedar City Cemetery was by Raymond W. Young. Musical numbers Included a vocal duet, "My Father Knows," by Elwln Armstrong and George D. Grimshaw, Henry Grimshaw, Ivor Jones and Elwin Armstrong, Arm-strong, san "Jesus, Lover of My Soul." ' Prelude and postlude music was by Barbara Armstrong. She also accompanied the musical selections. Survivors include two sons: Elwin of Cedar City and Clyde of Brigham City; three daughters: daugh-ters: Mrs. George W. (Leona) Grimshaw, Brigham City, Mrs. Raymond W. (Lillian) Young and Mrs. Francis W. (Bernice) Matheson, both of Basalt, Ida. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren grand-children and 53 great-grandchildren. |
