Show Utah State Search and Rescue groups open convention in Cedar City today noon after which a parade down Cedar City's Main Street will be held featuring each of the search and rescue units. Following the parade a performance per-formance rally will be staged north of the city. Spectators are welcome Baldwin Indicated. Friday evening a Get-acquainted dinner party will be held at the SUSC Ranch In Cedar Canyon. S a t u rday morning pistol shooting competition will get underway with the ladies participating par-ticipating at 7:30 a.m. followed by the men's competition. Competition Com-petition will be at the new range north of the city near the Jeep Patrol's club house. Following luncheon first aid competition will be conducted at the Cedar City Park to which the public Is Invited to attend. The competition Is expected to begin at 3 p.m. The Inaugural banquet at which new state officers will be named will be held Saturday Satur-day evening at the High School. Guest speakers will include Mayor Loren Whetten and law enforcement officers from Iron County. Awards to competition winners win-ners will be presented at the awards breakfast to be served from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday morning morn-ing Baldwin stated. The state convention of the Utah Search and Rescue organization organi-zation will be held in Cedar City Friday and Saturday, it Is announced by Adrian Baldwin commander of the Iron County Sheriff's Jeep Patrol, host for the events. Baldwin, a past national commander com-mander cf the Search and Rescue Re-scue org anization, indicates that approximately 350 members mem-bers and their wives from every county in Utah are expected to be on hand for the three-day affair. Advanced registration will begin this evening from 4 to 10 p.m. at the Cedar City High School, which will be the convention con-vention headquarters. First general business session ses-sion of the organization will be held Friday morning at which time the state commander, Glen Murray of Tooele, will welcome delegates. Special guest at the convention conven-tion will be National Commander Com-mander LaVoy Lewis of Mt. Pilliar, Idaho. Luncheon will be held at |
