Show ON SUSC CAMPUS. Dr. David Gardner, Gard-ner, President of the University of Utah, admires SUSC campus during USBHE sessions held in Cedar City. U of U prexy makes debut at SUS Dr. Gardner came to Utah from his post of vice-president for extended academic and public pub-lic service programs for the nine-campus system of the University of California. While assistant chancellor at the UC at Santa Barbara, Dr. Gardner was the author of a far-reach ing book, dealing with the controversy con-troversy over loyalty oaths at the University of California from 1949 to 1952. In short, Dr. Gardner is a professional educator, and his influence will be felt throughout through-out Utah's system of higher education. Dr. David P. The occasion was last week's annual retreat meeting of the Utah State Board of Higher Education. The meeting Is deliberately de-liberately held by the board d u r lng the Shakespearean Festival, which is always a highlight for board members. Also part of the annual meet-lng meet-lng is a steak fry held at SU-SC's SU-SC's College Ranch, up Cedar Canyon. |
