Show Marksmen Selected For CISM Team WASHINGTON (ANF) Four Army marksmen, led by Olympic Gold Medalist Maj. Lones W. Wigger, Jr., Carter, Mont, have won slots on the five man Council International Interna-tional du Sports Militaire (CISM) rifle team. One Marine shooter fills out the team while a Navy shooter was named an alternate member. The team was chosen following three days of firing on the 300 meter course at Ft. Benning, Ga. Capturing the number one spot on the U.S. Rifle Team, Wigger compiled a three day total of 2,500 of a possible 2,700 points. Marine Chief Warrant Officer David I. Boyd, Quantico, Va., won the runner-up spot with 2,481 points. Filling out the team that will compete against 40 other nations in the CISM matches to be held in Kungshagen, Sweden, the last of August, are Capt. Boyd Goldsby, Little Rock, Ark.; Capt. Ed Schumacher, Maysville, Ky.; and Maj. John Foster, Columbus, Ga. Wigger, Boyd and Goldsby are repeaters from the 1972 team which won all the gold medals in Cairo, Egypt. i |
