Show Colemans capture American LL Title " - ' '-V w . ' , ' ' . ? v. Coleman, who tied with Kiwanis for first half honors posted a perfect 7-0 record in the second half of play to chalk up the championship honors in the Cedar American Little League. Standings going into the final week's action were as follows: Coleman 6 0 Kiwanis 4 2 Rotary 4 2 Carter Bros 2 4 Spilsbury-Graff ..2 4 Milne 0 6 The league ended with play Wednesday evening and this week all 12 year olds were presented with a pin in recognition of their participation par-ticipation in Little League. Here's how the action went last week: Rotary 8, Milne 0: Robert Pearson went the distance for Rotary to record the shutout. He was aided offensively of-fensively with doubles by Gary Stroud and Larry Palmer. On the mound for Milne were Scott Gibson and Cade Leeder. Leeder also doubled in the game. Coleman 6, Kiwanis 5: It was this victory, that went into an extra inning that gave Coleman the league championship. On the mound were Joyn Paris for six innings and Jim Russum hurled the seventh and I' picked up the victory, fh Russum also homered in the ' contest and Jayson Stokes, Darren Marquardson and John Paris all hit doubles. The winning run came in the bottom of the seventh when Marquardson doubled, stole third and home for the winning run. For Kiwanis Bruce Evans LEAGUE CHAMPIONS. Coleman 20, Carter Bros. 11. On the mound for Coleman were Jim Russum and Marty Amador. Coleman really carried a big stick in this contest. Russum homered and doubled. Jayson Stokes and Ben Whitney each hit three doubles and Darren Marquardson and Chris Stucker both doubled. In the fifth inning Coleman hit five doubles and scored six runs. Walker, Jeff Heap and Roger Higbee all saw mound duty for the winners. Clay Coleman homered. Doubles for Kiwanis were belted by Jeff Archibald, Heap Kurtis Heap and Clay Coleman. In the losing effort Milne pulled off a double play that went from second to home to third in the fourth inning of play. On the mound for Mile were Cade Leeder and Tyler Brown. Brady Englestead doubled. Rotary 12, Spilsbury-Graff 2. Danny Bulloch went the distance for the victory. For hurled for five innings and Roger Higbee finished. Chuck Walker, Roger Higbee and Jeff Archibald all doubled in a losing effort. Carter Bros. 4, Spilsbury and Graff 3. Bret Stapel and Todd Sellers shared the mound duty for Carter Bros, i Sellers doubled and homered in the contest. On the mound for the Mortuary was Robert Hulet, who went the distance. Two of the three runs scored on a double by Hulet and he came on to score the only other run for his team. Kiwanis 13, Mile 12. Chuck For Carters, Tod Sellers and Bret Stapel shared the mound duty. Seller homered and Stapel doubled in the contest. Spilsbury and Graff Tony Taylor and Craig Cardon shared mound duty. Spilsbury also pulled off a double play with the third |
