Show 24th Celebration plans Formulated Plans are underway for the Pioneer Day celebration to be held in Cedar City on Monday, July 25. Activities are under the direction of the Cedar Stake with Richard Messer serving as the general chairman. One of the feature attractions of the day will be the annual Pioneer Day parade to be staged at 9:30 a.m. under the direction of Kimball Weaver. Activities on the park will begin at 10:15 a.m. including games, food and fun. There will be a dunking machine, snow cones, a bake sale, basektball pitch, darts, fish ponds and more. It is designed for young and old alike, according ac-cording to Messer. At 10:30 a.m. the Daughters of Utah Pioneers will present a special program at the Rock Church. The program is under the direction of Thora Roundy. Races for the children will be held at the park at 11:30 a.m. That evening the celebration will be capped with a dance to the "Travelin' Sound Machine" at the South Main Parking lot. Residents of the community and throughout the area are invited to join in this annual celebration. |
