Show County Audit reveals apparent dificit According to an Independent Audit of Iron County for the calendar year 1976, as conducted by Floyd Pickering, a CPA of Cedar City, there is an apparent dificit difference of some $11,347.86 existing in the Assessor's Department as between the amount of cash reported and accounted for, and personal property tax collections as reflected by the register of collections. Since some comingling of receipts and overlapping of transactions occurred oc-curred at the close of 1976 and the beginning of 1977, the Commissioners have ordered the audit of the County Assessor's Department brougnt down to a cut off date of July 1, 1977, in order to eliminate any possibility of an overlap as between the two years having any material effect on results tentatively obtained. The matter is being reviewed by the County Attorney's Office pending completion of the additional audit ordered by the County Commissioners. |
