Show Enoch -jfy and t(0 Midvalley (jfej?) By Veda Matheson Friends and neighbors were saddened this past week by the death of Rex E. Munson. Mr. Munson and his wife Dolley moved here a few years ago and had recently returned from an LDS mission in the Washington State area. E'amily members mem-bers and friends from out-of-town who came for the services' were their children, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Munson, Elagle ML. Calif.; Kenneth Munson, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Judy Munson, Cardston, Alberta, Canada. Brothers and sisters here were Rex and Dolly, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hatton, Torrence, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Munson, Mr. Hubert Munson, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Shakespear, Mrs. James Munson, all of Tropic, and Mrs. Ada Shakespear of Hurricane; Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Church of Idaho; Elmo Munson, Tremonton; Gloria Thim, Layton, and Douglas and James Martell, of California. Carol Matheson and Kent Sevy were married in the St. George Temple Friday and were honored that evening with a reception in the Enoch Cultural Hall. Carol is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylen Matheson and Kent is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Sevy of Bloomington. They were honored further by an open house in Bloomington Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Johnson of Farmington visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gaylen Matheson and attended at-tended their granddaughter, Carols, wedding. Mrs. Johnson made the beautiful wedding cake. One other event that took place this past week in the Enoch Ward Church was the 50th wedding anniversary an-niversary of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Anderson. The Andersons are former residents of Enoch and have many friends and relatives in this area. Their eight living children were here and 39 of their 40 grandchildren. The only one not present was Brad Anderson, who is erving an LDS mission. Roland and Ellen have been living in Mesquite and have recently moved to St. George Besides the relatives who live here, Rolands brother and sister- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Anderson were here from Texas, and his sister, Mrs. Alice McCall and her daughter and son-in-law were here from Calif. Also Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Anderson An-derson were here from Mesquite, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Murie were here from Washington, Ut. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bunting, included Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burt of Las Vegas, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burt and children, Mr. and Mrs. DeRalph Bunting and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Merril Bunting, and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bunting and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Jourdain and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Joslin and family and Mrs. Nora Frost. Mr. and Mrs. Clint Matheson enjoyed a brief visit from Jo's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Bott of California. Mr. and Mrs. DeVon Jones enjoyed a vist from their children over the July 4tyh weekend. Bob Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Storrs and baby were here from Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Jones of St. George visited recently and took little Kimberley Jones home to her parents. Her father, Ron Jones, has been in Arizona in a hospital, but is improved at this time. Mrs. Marjorie Christiansen is in the Valley View Medical Center at this time receiving treatment. Also Ivor Jones is in the hospital following an accident ac-cident that injured his back. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Davis of Garden Park enjoyed a visit from Mr. andMrs. John A. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Rand Packer of Denton, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Hillman Haycock had family members who came to visit and attend the Haycock reunion. Here from California were Hillman's brother, Garn, and also Hillman's children, Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Haycock, Dr. and Mrs. Ron Vaughn and Mrs. Bonnie Carroll and three children. Mrs. R L. Whitaker has been in Salt Lake where he had surgery on his arm. Mrs. Pauline Whitaker and Mrs. Minnie Bronsema made a trip to Salt Lake to bring him home. Mrs. Gay Sorenson and baby of Idaho are visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grimshaw. |
