Show Emergency Loan Program aids Livestoclimen The emergency Loan Program of the Farmers Home Adminsitration and the Emergency Livestock Feed Program administered by the Agricultural Stablization and Conservation Con-servation Service are presently available for ranchers and farmers of this area. The emergecny loans offer assistance to those adversely ad-versely affected by the drought, The FmHA emergency loan Program makes available to eleigible farmers far-mers and ranchers low interest in-terest (five percent) loans for losses they have suffered as a result of the drought. Once a loan is approved, the farmer or rancher can use the money for almost any purpose. One eligibility requirement require-ment for this program is that the applicant be unable to obtain credit from other sources. If the farmers or ranchers will work with their local bankers and FHA, a cooperative agreement can be worked out in this regard. Farmers Home has indicated that they will give first priority to drought related applications in an attemDt to speed up the process time. The emergency livestock feed program offers a cost sharing program to livestock operators for feed purchases. To be eligible for this program, the country must be designated a disaster area. In Utah all the counties except Salt Lake and Utah counties have been designated disaster areas. Under this program, ASCS can pay up to $.02 per lb. not exceeding 50 percent of the cost on livestock feed. To be eligible for assistance under this program a livestock operator must have experienced ex-perienced a feed loss of either crop or of range land and now must purchase feed to meet the needs of his livestock.
