Show School Board awards misc. contracts Bids for the supplying of coal, heating oil and milk for the Iron County School District for the 1977-78 school year were recently awarded, according to J. Clair Morris, Superintendent. Dean Wilson Trucking of Salina was awarded the contract for supplying coal to all of the schools in the district. The coal will come from the "Browning" mine and delivered at $26 per ton. Two other contractors participated in the bidding. Canyonland Petroleum was the only bidder for fuel oil for the East Elementary. The bid of 31.1 cents per gallon was accepted by the Board. The supplying of milk for the school lunch program was also awarded to three separate distributors. In all cases the board accepted the bid on two percent, low fat milk. Dick Nowers Distributor was awarded the contract to supply milk in half pint containers at Parowan School at 9.5 cents per carton. Carter, Taylor and Baker Distributors were awarded the contract for Cedar City Schools at 8.95 cents per carton and St. George Distributing was awarded the contract for the Escalante Valley School at 8.99 cents per carton. |
