Paragonah - . 4 By Hilma Lamoreaux PARAGONAH - The Paragonah young men leaders and the Explorers left town Sun. afternoon to travel to Salt Lake City for the first part of a week's vacation trip. On Mon. their schedule called for meeting an organized group near Jackson Hole, Wyo. for a trip through the Grand Tetons and a three day run of the Snake River by canoe. Those who went on the trip were Antone Robinson and son Rick, Kelly, Gorden David and Mark Judd, Richard Abbott, Carl Dean Barton and Boyd Robinson. Alan and Holly Robinson left for Las Vegas on Fri. to attend a three Regional Conference for young adult Latter-day Saints. The conference was to convene Sat. and Sun. and the brother and sister two-some were to return home on Mon. Aug. 1st is the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Idella Robinson but this year family members planned a unique and different overnight Fri. with the -Wilson Lunds. On Sat. they took Mrs. Lund north with them where Roene and her sister visited overnight with the Victor Smiths of Ogden and then returned to Provo for the Geneology Seminar. This Seminar held at BYU was to be all week long. Mr. and Mrs. Lagrand Robb left for Fair Oaks, Calif, on Wed. to visit with their daughter, Deanna and her husband Russell Johnson and their children. They were to accompany the Johnson family to the Temple for their sealing. Royce and Mark Barton left on Sat. for a week's vacation trip. They took their sister, Laura to Wray, Colo, for a three weeks stay with her former, roommate Miss Brenda Lowe. The two young ladies will be atending BYU together again this year. Mr. Robin Lamoreaux of Orem, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamoreaux of Paragonah was recently elected president of the Electricians Union of the Provo, Salt Lake City area. On July 26 he and his wife, celebration for the occasion. Invitations were issued to the family to come to a "work party" at 9 o'clock Sat. morning when the fellows could attend and all joined in cleaning ditches, pruning trees, mending fences and making other repairs much appreciated by all widows. Sons, Clair, and Dean, and daughter Mrs. Donna Jolley and members of their families from as far away as Las Vegas were present. There were pony rides for the children and a delicious turkey dinner for all. It was fun for everyone. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Anderson spent two days last week in Beaver Canyon at the Mountain home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Low. The cool air there was a welcome respite from last week's heat. Mr. and Mrs. K. Doyle Robinson went to Navajo Lake on July 23 where their five children and their spouses and family members mem-bers were vacationing until the 28th. At one time the group numbered 41. On Sun they went to Duck Creek to attend church meeting w hich were held out-of-doors and drew a large crowd Mr. Norman Harris of Salt Lake City was to Parowan for a weekend visit with his mother, Mrs. Hattie Harris and he brought Mrs. Harris to Paragonah where they visited with his mother inlaw in-law Mrs. Hannah Robinson Mrs. LaVon McGookin of Long Beach. Calif, and two of her friends visited here the former Geraldine Stubbs of Parowan, and their two eldest daughter traveled to Boise, Idaho to spend the rest of the week at a Regional Union Convention. Mrs. Irene Robinson left for the Provo area on Sun. with her daughter, Mrs. Cleo Edwards. She will spend the week visiting relatives. Mrs. Lee Bradshaw and two small children of Las Vegas are back in town to spend a week with the Lynn Thorntons. Little Monica Carter of Minersville visited here for several days last week with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Kay Lamoreaux. The Paragonah Ward Primary held graduation exercises for the girls on Sunday afternoon. There was a short program, light refreshments and certificates cer-tificates were presented by Sam Cutler of the Bishopric. Parents and grandparents attended. The graduates included Annette Talbot Charyl Moter, Lori Kay Ward and Nora Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Robb and four of their family from Henderson, Nev. were weekend visitors here with Larry's mother, Mrs. Nina Robb. On July 26, Mr. and Mrs. Milton T. Poulson and four of their children stopped briefly in Paragonah on their way back to Rickland, Idaho for a visit w ith Mr. Bill Edwards. They had been in St. George to get Pauline's mother Mrs. Vera Larsen, who will spend some time in Idaho with the Poulson's |
