Dr. Lanell Topham of Modesto, Calif, flew to the city and the Doyle Tophams came from Newly weds Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Barton were honored at an Open House at the Bruce Barton home on Sat. evening and guests were greeted in an outdoor out-door setting in the yard, which was attractively decorated with red and white appointments. The brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garff Maxfield assisted in the receiving line. The bride was attended by her sister, Tina and Royce Barton stood as best man. Douglas and his wife are now at home in Cedar City. The Barton reception was the occasion for all of Brace's family to get together and on Sun. all went to the Clark Barton Sum mer home near Duck Creek for further visiting and a steak dinner. Included in the group were the Bruce Bartons, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Barton and Mr. and Mrs. Billy McConnell of Cedar City and Brent and Beatrice Davis of Fillmore. Mrs. Idella Robinson, Mrs. Marsha Robinson and daughters Lisa and Dee Ann were to Parowan on Sat. June 19 to attend at-tend a bridal shower for Miss Kristen Bentley. The party was held at the Clair Robinson home. Mrs. Idella Robinson was to Tooele during the week for a visit with the Gordon Manzione family. She made the trip on Wed. with granddaughters Mrs. Shanna Stubbs and Miss Linda Jolley of Cedar City. They returned home on Fri. Mrs. Alene Prothero was to Las Vegas recently for a visit with the Gene Close family. By Hilma Lamoreaux Paragonah will celebrate Independence Day on July 5th with the usual observance of a Public Meeting, sports, races and a food sale. The meeting will be held following the parade in Parowan , and will feature an Uncle Sam, Goddess of Liberty and a Miss Utah in addition to musical numbers etc, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lamoreaux are in charge of the events and the Church Auxiliaries will arrange the food sale. Mr. and Mrs. K. Doyle Robinson were happy to have a number of their familv together Lamoreaux family and in Parowan with the Wimmer Mortensens. Mr. and Mrs. Lagrand Robb have been enjoying visits from their daughters this past week. On Mon. Mrs. Deanna Johnson and six children of Fair Oaks, Calif. and Mrs. Patty Christiansen and six of hers came from Ridge Crest, Calif. They were accompanied by Charisse boyfriend Tavish MacGreggor. The Christiansens left for home on Fri. with the exception of Eric who will stay longer. Deanna plans to be here several weeks. Denise, Angela and Michelle Robb of Price have also been on Sat. evening. Kay and Marion Robinson and two of their daughters had come from Salt Lake City on Tues. and had spent the remainder of the week on Cedar Mountain. They came back to town for an overnight visit Sat. and arranged for other family members to join them here. From Cedar City were Mr and Mrs. Burt Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Frost and baby, Mrs. Reva Matheson and her youngest daughter and Mrs. ' Ivy Skougaard and her three children. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Anderson An-derson and others were to Beaver on Sat. evening to attend the Open House for newly weds, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Limb. Jim Talbot of Portland, Oregon was here from Fri. to Sun. to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Talbot. His brother Ardell and young son, Duane of Jerome, Idaho arrived the same day to visit until Tvlon. On Sat. Jim and Ardell took their father to St. George where Brent joined them to attend the Temple. It was a memorable experience for all concerned. Jack Dalton was in the Valley View Medical Center from Sun. to Tues. for treatment and was taken back there on Fri. evening. At this writing he is reported to be in poor condition. His son-in-law and daughter Bill and Annette An-nette Inglesby of Salt Lake City had arrived to be near. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Talbot and Annette went to Salt Lake City on Tues. to visit friends and Bob went on in to Idaho on business. They returned home on Sat. Justin Fairbanks of Thatcher, Ariz, visited at the Orson Talbot home on Sun. enroute to Salt Lake City. ' ' Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Robinson made a trip to Salt Lake City on the weekend. They attended to business matters. Hazel attended a Davenport reunion at the Murray Park and they visited overnight Sat. at the Dee Conder home in Magna. The Primary Merrie Miss girls traveled to the mountains on Wed. for their summer fun day. Mrs. Helen Barton took them to the Barton summer home in visiting here with their cousins and grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Topham had a special family dinner at their home on Sat. with Miss Laurie Benson of Parowan as a guest. Darren and Christian Orton and Billy and Matt Brown of Cedar City were overnight visitors here Fri. with grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamoreaux. David and Katherine Rock and two children of San Fernando Valley, Calif, visited here for Several days last week with grandfather, Eddie Edwards. ' They also saw grandmother Edwards who is now in the Nursing Home in Cedar City. Twelve members of the Special Interest group attended the Stake Party at Five Mile on Sat. evening. Mr. and Mrs. George Williamson and two children of Cedar City visited here on Sun. with George's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Williamson. George and his family are moving to Montpelier, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kay Topham visited here on June 19 and again on Sat. last with Bishop and Mrs. Kenneth G. Topham. They brought their two sons Michael and Brett from San Bernardino to spend the week with their grandparents and then came again to take them home. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jones and their three younger children of Salt Lake City spent last week here with the Blaine Jones family. On Sat. J. B. and Karen went to Las Vegas and Boulder Dam with Blaine and Alice. Young Janet remained here for a longer visit when the others returned home on Sun. ' , Mrs. Bertha S. Tophant fcs away from Tues. to Fri. as she traveled north with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Topham of Washington to visit with the Ray Berries in Kearns and to attend the wedding wed-ding of her granddaughter, Miss Karen Berrie who was married on Wed. the 23rd in the Salt Lake Temple to Richard Chamberlain of Richfield. Mrs. Topham attended the wedding, the breakfast which followed in the Lions House and Kings Valley for hiking and a meal in the cabin. Mark Judd, Todd and Chad Robinson and Randy Holmquist with leader Bovd Robinson at- tended Boy Scout Camp at Thunder Ridge Camp in Parowan Canyon from Mon. to Sat. of last week. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Lister have had a number of their family with them of late. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Lister and children of Price were here June 19 accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Maben Jacobson of Oak City. Alan and his family came from Ely, Nevada for Father's Day weekend and Jack and his family were here from Washington for an overnight stay Fri. Becky and Stacey, children of the Alan Listers are remaining here with their grandparents until July 9. Elwin Talbot and son Mark of Salt Lake City visited here overnight Fri. with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Renford Talbot. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Talbot and son Kevin of Granger were also weekend visitors at the Talbot home. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lamoreaux and Mrs. Leora Ashton of Orem and Mrs. Nina Hamilton of Missouli, Montana brought Mrs. Irene Robinson home from Orem on Thurs. last and visited here until Mon. or Tues. last and visited here until Mon. or Tues. Orion Lamoreaux of Las Vegas and son Gene of San Francisco arrived here on Fri. to take Arch on a fishing trip to Panguitch Lake and an overnight camp out in Horse Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Mortensen of Tooele arrived here on Tues. to join their two children who have been visiting here since Memorial Day with the Clark |
