Show Sect. Kleppe, Congressional Delegation to visit Kaiparowits i Congressman Allan Howe, along with the other members of the Utah Congressional delegation and Utah Governor Calvin L. Rampton, has invited Interior Secretary Thomas S. Kleppe to personally visit the site of the proposed Kaiparowits,? ; Power Project in southern Utalf. Secretary Kleppe has indicated in-dicated that he will probably I ! decide late this month whether or i : not he will approve construction I of the Kaiparowits Project. ' J In a letter signed by I Congressman Howe and the ; I other members of the Utah I Congressional delegation, ' J Secretary Kleppe is invited to ; I visit the Kaiparowits site prior to I making his decision and ac-I ac-I company the members of the I Congressional delegation and I Governor Rampton on an aerial I and ground inspection of the site. I Rep. Howe said, "I spoke with i I Secretary Kleppe yesterday and he expressed then a desire to take a first-hand look at the proposed Kaiparowits site before making his final decision on the fate of the project, so I am very pleased to join with my colleagues in Congress and the Governor in extending an official invitation to the Secretary to make that visit." Congressman Howe continued, "Secretary Kleppe will have the final Kaiparowits Envirnmental Impact Statement and a great many other facts and figures, plus the statements of people who are for or against construction con-struction of Kaiparowits to consider before he makes his decision, but I think it is absolutely ab-solutely essential that he personally per-sonally look at the area where Kaiparowits would be built before he decides its fate, so I hope he will accept this invitation." in-vitation." , |
