Show 1 WM. E.DUNN William Dunn : files for State Position ; William E. Dunn, Salt Lake ( County Commissioner, Wed-' nesday announced his candidacy for the office of Lieutenant , Governor-Secretary of State on the Republican ticket. The an-' nouncement was made at a news , conference held in the Commission Com-mission board room at the City ' and County Building in Salt Lake. I Dunn has been considered as a ' possible candidate for both the' offices of lieutenant governor, and governor over the past several months. 1 In announcing his candidacy, for Lieutenant Governor, Dunn siad, "I have traveled to various 1 areas of the State to consult with i party leaders and friends while trying to make this important decision of whether or not to seek State office, and if I were to become a candidate, to determine deter-mine which office I could serve best. "Many persons throughout the State have taken an interest in my candidacy and expressed enormous support and have encouraged me to seek a State office, so I am announcing my candidacy for the nomination to the office of Lieutenant Governor-Secretary of State in the coming elections. If electea my pledge will be to bring a fresh, new approach to the-office to create an efficiency most capable of performing the many services required.' As government govern-ment becomes more and more complex, I am convinced that my background can be a great asset in creating this efficiency. I encourage you to look into my background, my record and my accomplishments." At the present time Commissioner Com-missioner Dunn is on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Counties and was chosen as chairman of their 1976 National Convention being held in Salt Lake City in June. Dunn has the distinction of being one of three county officials of-ficials of the United States appointed ap-pointed by President Ford to serve as a member of the U. S. Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental In-tergovernmental Relations (ACIR). |
