Show s t Being a Career Girl is forthe Birds on the way some of his lunches look when they are put together, by a very cross lady with her eyes closed, but I'm just not 'a morning person. I would like to do all the morning chores' at night (sometimes I do, now that I think about it-but that's another story). I think we should all get up at 10:00 a.m. and the kids could go to school at 11:00 and stay until 5:00. Then, they could stay up until all those programs they want to see apd aren't supposed to are all over and it gets boring enough for them to want to go to bed-no more nagging about turning in early. Movies could start late enough so that even farmers could get to them. I know that there are some early bird people who will disagree with me. They tell me that early morning is the best time of the day. Everything is fresh and the birds are singing as the sun rises. Well, I'd like to enjoy that once in a while too. I'll just lift my head off the pillow, open one eye half-way and listen for a moment. . . then I'm going to roll over and go back to sleep. By Mary Gae Evans PAROWAN - I'd never make it as a career girl. I don't know how they do it-all the ladies who get up early every morning and go to work. They can't drag around in a nice worn-out housecoat for an hour or two until they get the strength to get dressed. They have to pop out of bed and be all beautiful and ready to go practically in minutes. It must be really hard to put makeup on baggy, half-opened eyes. I can't even see out of mine until 10:00. And hair-they must sleep in one position with a pillow rolled up under their neck staring at the ceiling. The way my hair looks in the morning I could never have it under control by 8:00. I've heard it said that diamonds are a girl's best briend, but I'll bet most working girls would say it is their blow combs, electric rollers, and curling iron. I practically have to be dragged out of bed in the morning mor-ning and I feel my way around with my eyes shut for a half hour or so before I can get them to . open a little. ' I can't stand to look' in the mirror for a while anyway, so it's just as well. I have had a few comments from my husband |
