Show Boy Scout Skill-o-Ree The Annual Cedar Breaks Boy Scout Skill-o-Ree will be held Tuesday, April 13, at 7:00 p.m. in the Cedar High School gymnasium. gym-nasium. The evening will, highlight skill-building contests. and also have some fun thrown in. for the boys and spectators alike. The Skill-o-Ree is an activity in which scouts are able to demonstrate the skills they have learned in the scouting program. All events will be open to regular Boy Scouts as well as the Blazer B's. This includes all 11, 12 and 13 year-old boys. Contests involved in the Skill-o-Ree include first aid, rapelling, compass knowledge, fire-making with flint and steel, signalling, knot tying, and a general knowledge of scouting, in addition ad-dition ot the skill contests, great excietment revolves around the fun contents such as the clothing stripping relay, the obstacle course, and Skin the Snake. The culminationVof the evenings activities will be a pie-eating contest for one "lucky" boy in each troop. Judging for the Skill-o-Ree will be by the Cedar Breaks Order of the Arrow under the direction of Mark Morrison. The Cedar Breaks Scouting Committee will award points and determine winners in each event. A grand prize of a Dutch-Oven donated by the merchants of Cedar City will be given to the best overall troop. The Skill-o-Ree is under the direction of Robert Moss. |
