Sealed proposals will be received by the Iron County Commission at Parowan, Utah until 10:00 o'clock a.m. April 28th, 1976, and at that time publicly opened for construction of 5.5 miles of Collector Road in Iron County, the same being that section of Collector Road Route No. CR-29 from Midvalley Road to State Route No. 56 identified as Collector Road Project No. CR-29 (1). The length of road to be constructed con-structed or imporved is 5.5 miles, and the principal items of work are approximately as follows: 34,500 cys of granular embankment, em-bankment, 20,000 tons of crushed aggregate base course, 670 tons of Bituminous material, 10,200 tons of. bituminous surface course, miscellaneous CMP culvetts and 86 cys. of reinfected concrete headwalls. The project is to be cpmpleted in 110 working days. Prequalification of bidders is required. Prior to any bidder's receiving plans and specifications, specifi-cations, it will be necessary that the bidder have on file with the State Road Commission of Utah completed and approved, the required Prequalification Statement pertaining to contractor's experience ex-perience and financial condition. The attention of bidders is directed to Special Provisions covering subletting or assigning the contract. In conformity with, and by authority of Title 34, Chapter 30, Utah Code Annotated 1953, the general prevailing rates as determined by the Industrial Commission of Utah shall be effective and apply to this project, and are the minimum wages to be paid on this project. The attention of bidders is directed to the fact that contractors con-tractors engaged in highway construction work are required to meet the provisions of the fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (52 Stat. 1060). The Iron County Commission, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252), hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible respon-sible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, color or national origin. , Proposal forms, plans ,and specifications are on file in the office of the Iron County Clerk, Parowan, Utah and the office of the Project Engineer at 40 S. 200 W., Cedar City, Utah, where they may be reviewed by prospective bidders. Specifications, proposal forms, and plans may be obtained ob-tained only at project engineer's office upon applicaaion and payment of a fee of $25.00 no part of which will be refunded. Each bidder must submit a bid bond from an approved surety company on forms provided by the local agency; or in lieu thereof, cash, certified check, or cahsier's check for not less than 5. percent of the total amount of the bid, made payable to Iron County Treasurer as evidence of good faith and a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish the contract bonds as required.
