Show Annual Amatuer Art Exhibit at Cedar High ; winners announced Rick Childs; College and Adult Ceramics Second Place, Rick Childs; College and Adult Ceramics Third Place, Belden Lewis; High School Ceramics First Place, Heyden Petrie; High School Ceramics Second Place, Tcfm Childs; High School Ceramics Third Place, Tom Childs. The Annual Cedar City Amateur Art Exhibit is being held this week at the student center of Cedar High School. Anyone interested in viewing the excellent art involved in the exhibit are encouraged to visit the show between the hours of 10:00 and 6:00, April 3rd - April 9th. Cash prizes for the show were offered and awarded in many I categories. The very difficult job of awarding first, second and third places in these categories was most tastefully and expertly done by Mr. Jimmy Jones, a well-known professional artist. Those serving on the amateur committee this year are: Chairman, Mr. John Pensis; Adult Chairwomen, Gloria Fenton and Louise Jones; College Chairmen, Lani Twit-chell Twit-chell and Roy Smith; High School Chairmen, John Pensis and Tom Childs; Junior High Chairmen, Mike Webster and Chuck Hohylin; Secretary-Treasurer, Secretary-Treasurer, Jeanne W. Pensis and Show Judge, Mr. Jimmy Jones. Committee advisors are: Dr. J. Clair Morris, Dr. Tom Leek, Mr. Belden Lewis and Dr. Jerald Hawley. Awarded Best of Show award was Miss Lani Twitchell, an art student at SUSC. She received this most coveted award with her work featuring weaving as art. This unusual art piece has special distinction in the show and is displayed at the entrance to this year's exhibit.
