Show Suspect Measle Case Reported A suspected case of international in-ternational importation of measles into Logan, Utah has been reported by a private physician to the Utah Department of Health. Investigation by the Bear River District Health Department has revealed that the five-year-old unimmunized child had traveled from Auckland, New Zealand through Hawaii and Los Angeles to Logan. The Los Angeles Health Department has been notified concerning a family exposed at the Los Angeles Airport. The District Health Department has begun outbreak control procedures pending laboratory confirmation. con-firmation. If this child's illness is confirmed as measles it will be the fourth case discovered during the Summer Measles Search in Utah. It would also be the fourth international transmission tran-smission of measles into Utah in 18 months. This week Colorado reported two cases . of measles in the Denver area, bringing the total number of . measles cases discovered in t the ten participating states to 28. |
