Show CLE P Testing at SUSC Oct. 13 National College-Level Examinations in English, humanities, natural sciences, mathematics, and social sciences-history will be given October 13 at Southern Utah State College. CLEP testing will start at 8: 15 a.m. in the SUSC Career Center, room 102, administration ad-ministration building. Each test will cost $20. "CLEP testing was developed so that individuals, in-dividuals, old and young, can earn college credit for what they've learned on their own," Bessie Dover, SUSC Career Counselor,, said. Well over 1,000 students have received CLEP credit at SUSC since the national testing program began in 1971. SUSC awards a maximum of 46 quarter hours credit in general, education areas. "This is the equivalent of a year of schooling which not only reduces the amount of time a student spends working towards a baccalaureate bac-calaureate degree, but which can greatly cut educational costs," Dover explained. In addition to the general examinations a number of specialized CLEP tests are available. Information about these and other tests given at the career center is available by calling 586-4411, ext. 336. |
