Show T-birds host Cross Country Meet derbirds finished fifth in the five-team Weber State Invitational. In-vitational. Weber won the meet with 36 points, followed by Utah (48), Montana State (62), Utah State (100) and SUSC (130). "The competition was tough, and we are awfully young and a little shallow, but we aren't disappointed with our showing. We'll get better as the ' season progresses," Adams said. Just who will be competing com-peting is somewhat up in the air, but Southern Utah State College will be hosting a 5-mile 5-mile cross country race Saturday at the Painted Hills Golf Course. Entered for sure are two teams from SUSC, and a squad from College of Eastern Utah. Entered probably is a contingent of runners from Brigham Young University, which will be running unattached. Entered maybe is the University of Utah team, depending on the fate of another tentatively scheduled meet in Salt Lake City. Whoever's there, the SUSC hosted meet will start at 11 a.m. in front of the clubhouse. Two laps of two and one-half miles each will be run on the course. Runners Run-ners will finish in front of the clubhouse. "We'd welcome spectators; spec-tators; they'll find it more interesting than they might realize," Boyd Adams, SUSC coach, indicates. In its first two meets of the year, SUSC has been paced by Wayne Pinto, Freshman from Davis High School; Vince Reyes, a junior college transfer from Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and David Jim, a freshman from San Juan ' High School.
