Show New Castle Steer wins Contest casses. Wayne and Mariea Smith served lunch for those attending. Cedar City P.C.A. showed a film. The winners received $100.00 1st; 2nd $50.00 ; 3rd $25.00; and 4th $15.00 each. Prize money was donated by: . Iron County Cattlemens Association; Washington County Cattlemens Association; Beaver County Cattlemens Association. Minersville Land and Livestock Association: Grant Esplin, Wells' Farrer, Wayne Smith, Gilbert Yardley, E. R. Magleby and Darrell Matthews. A steer exhibited by Carol Gardner of New Castle was named winner of the Carcass Car-cass Contest held recently at the Southwest livestock Show at Cedar City, according ac-cording to Grant Esplin, area livestock Specialist. Other winners were as follows: Bryan Wood, Minersville 2nd; Lance Smith, Cedar City 3rd; Brad Esplin, St. George tied 4th; Todd Marshall, Minersville tied 4th. Judging is based 50 percent per-cent carcass 35 percent carcass gain; 15 percent live placing. Eighteen steers were entered in the contest this year from Beaver, Iron and Washington Counties. A Federal Grader did the official grading of the carcasses. ; All animals were killed at Cedar Packing Company. An open house was held at the packing plant for all interested to see the car- |
