Show LOOKING BACK Did you know-That know-That half the world doesn't stop to consider that it is none of its business how the other half lives? September 8, 1916 Improvements on Main Street The close of 1916 would see a decided change in the appearance of Main Street, from what we had in 1915. Four good, creditable business blocks are being erected and were already, or at least most of them, were beginning to present quite an imposing appearance. ap-pearance. The removal of telephone and electric light poles from the center of Main Street to the side of the street was a very good improvement, and the curb and gutters in the business section was also a welcome improvement. Also there were six or eight nice modern homes being built, which would enhance and beautify the residential areas of the city. ALSO The businesses have at last woke up and were gel-ting gel-ting behind the baseball team. They had enough money to pay for new baseball suits for all the players and also had enough money to finance the Dixie Trip that was coming up. It was said that with this kind of encouragement, en-couragement, there would be no reason why Cedar City should not have a team that can clean up any other in southern Utah! by Dorothy Rogers IB IBB 1DB Iflff" "w"""'1 r |
