Show ACCEPT AWARDS. Jody Parcell, receives the silver platter as the Club Champion at the conclusion of the Cedar City Ladies Golf Association Season. Other winners were also presented awards at the concluding activities held last Monday. Jody Parcell Lady Golfer Champion by Edith Kirtley Thursday and Friday the Ladies Golf Association completed their golf season with a two-day Club Championship tournament. The group jpiffneyed to Milt's Stage Stop Avhere a delightful luncheon was. enjoyed and prizes were awarded to conclude the seasjjh's activate. f Jd'y ParcelFproved to be the Club Champion for 1979. Gene Biederman was the 2nd low gross, Nadine Sherratt was first place low net, Orlene Pickett captured second place honors in the low net division. In the second flight Helen Jenson won low gross and Karla Olofsen low net. Second place in low net went to Virginia Miller. Gene Biederman had the winning score for low putts and Jody Parcell made the longest drive on number 9, and was closest to the hole on number 7. Gene Gardner automatically became the new president of the Association and Virginia Miller was voted in as vice president. Other officers will be chosen next spring when the 1980 season opens. Once again our thanks to to Pro Gale Parcell, and to the Assistant Kim Thompson, Thomp-son, for their assistance and interest in our club. We thank the many sponsors for their support; Condie Fireplace, First Security Bank, Orr Plumbing, Plum-bing, Pickett Farm, Hunter-Cowan Hunter-Cowan Hardware, Bank of Iron County, Dale Ray Thoroughbreds, Bulloch Drug and Gale's Pro Shop. Door prizes were presented at the luncheon. They were donated by Clark and Linford Jewelers, Phyllis Parcell, Orlene Pickett, Bobbie Orr and the Ladies Golf Association. In earlier competition on August 30 the winners were Lilly Hazel, Wana Hoyle and Jean Bunting. On September 6 the Ladies drove from the white tees, and the winners for the day were Nadine Sherratt, Virginia Miller, Yvonne Paris, and Leatha Prest-wich. Prest-wich. Low net was won by Gloria Fenton, Karla Olofson and high net by Hele Jenson, and Fern Erickson in competition com-petition September 13. Edith Kirtley and Gen Gardner were the low putters for Sept. 20 and Dee Carter and Orlene Pickett were the high. |
