Show Steve Lunt appointed Athletic Director r vem 'jful ,i ! r Lunt will replace Dr. Bruce Osborne, who has held the joint direc-torchairman direc-torchairman position at SUSC since 1967. Osborne also served as athletic director from J962 through 1965. The position change was made in ac-cordnace ac-cordnace with an SUSC policy of periodically rotating administrative assignments. Osborne will continue in his teaching assignments at SUSC. Lunt has been a member of the SUSC faculty since September of 1965. He'" holds the rank of associate professor and is currently serving as head track ' and cross country coach and as junior varsity basketball coach. While at SUSC, Lunt has also served as head athletic baseball coach, and as an administrative assistant to the athletic director-department chariman. Prior to coming to SUSC, Lunt served four years as athletic director and five years a s a coach in all sports at Kanab High School. Lunt was awarded a doctor of 1 education degree with an emphasis in educational administration from Brigham Young University in 1976. He earned MS (1967) and BSM958) degrees ; in physical education at Utah State University. He was awarded an associate of science degree from SUSC in 1956, before SUSC moved to a four-year four-year program. He is a graduate of Cedar City High School. He is married to the former Sherrill Hunter from Fillmore. They are the parents of three sons and one daughter. Selection of Lunt was made from among departmental personnel currently employed at SUSC. A three-member three-member selection committee con- : , ducted application and selection v procedures. DR. STEVE LUNT Dr. Steve Lunt has been selected to serve as the new athletic director at Southern Utah State College. Announcement of the appointment was made this week. Lunt, 42, will officially assume his new position July 1. The position also includes chairmanship chair-manship of the SUSC Department of Physical and Health Education. |
