Show Not too early to be careful with fire The fire season for Southern Utah Is officially scheduled to start In June; however, two forest fires have already been reported to the Supervisor's Office of the Dixie National Forest for this year. Last year, 19 man-made or man-caused forest fires were reported. These claimed acres of valuable recreation land In the needless waste that accompanies ac-companies forest fires. . Although firefighting crews, trained in fire control, are on standby in most governmental agencies associated with public pub-lic lands, the problem can best be controled at the source. Keep In mind these basic campfire rules: 1. Clean an area of all combustible com-bustible material three feet away from the outside perimeter peri-meter of the fire. 2. Never leave a campfire unattended. 3. Make sure your campfire is dead out before leaving camp. |
