Show Summer recreation program slated Cedar City's Summer recrea-1 tion program is slated to get underway Monday, June 7, it is announced by Harold Shirley, Shir-ley, director. Cedar Recreation baseball tryouts will be held Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the East Elementary Elem-entary diamond. New boys 8 through 12 years of age as well as last year's participants should attend. Shirley pointed out that those who participated last year would automatically be on the same teams and the tryouts will be held to determine deter-mine placement of the new boys in the program. Girls recreation programs offer a number of activities including tennis, softball, modern dance, and baton twirling. A special children's hour will be held for those 2 to 6 years of age. Supplementing the basoball program for boys will be a baseball fundamentals clinic to help sharpen up their techniques. tech-niques. The swimming program will be modified somewhat, Shirley Shir-ley indicated. Lessons, for boys will be taught each Monday and Friday and girls instruction instruc-tion will be held Tuesday and Thursday. A swim team, representing re-presenting Cedar City will compete with teams from other oth-er southern Utah communities, communi-ties, To register for recreation activities participants need simply to attend the class period. Brochures detailing each program have been sent to homes through students in the schools.
