San Salvador student at College studies to become 'master teacher' SUSC Library is a collection of Latin American items loaned loan-ed by Mario and other students. stu-dents. Part of, the exhibit is devoted to a display of native na-tive American Indian handwork hand-work contributed by Upward Bound Students and Indians participating in other education educa-tion programs on the campus. The items are shown in the main lobby. On the terrace level of the library is a display from Poly-1 nesian and Samoan students. The exhibits will conclude the foreign student displays arranged by Mrs. Ramona Chamberlain. j Mario Flores, Southern Utah State College student . from San Salvador, would like to become a master teacher like his grandfather, Saul Flores. Mr. Flores was designated "Teacher of the Year 1971" in El Salvador, home city of the Flores family. Mario is now studying Spanish and other subjects at SUSC with plans to enter the field of education. He has received re-ceived a scholarship to continue con-tinue his studies next year. He is completing his third year at Southern Utah State. In honor of his grandfather. Mario has presented a collection collec-tion of books and pamphlets to the SUSC Library. All are written in Spanish. One of the publications contains the story of his grandfather's life and how a bust has beCri placed in his honor in the San Salvador school which bears his name. He has also been presented with a medal by the ambassador to Chile. Mario reports that, his grandmother grand-mother is a poet and author of several published books. She also is a teacher of English En-glish in El Salvador. Currently on display in the |
