Show Membership limit set (or American Legion Auxiliary Mrs. Gladys Isom, membership member-ship chairman for the American Ameri-can Legion Auxiliary announces announ-ces that deadline for membership member-ship in the Auxiliary is January Jan-uary 31. Mrs. Isom emphasized that the number of girls from Cedar Ce-dar High School selected to participate in Girls State is in direct proportion to the membership of the auxiliary, with one girl eligible for each 10 mem'bers. Those eligible are asked to contact Mrs. Isom. or Marie Memmott, presidenet .of the auxiliary unit. Additional honors are given' to the unit within the division reaching the highest percentage percent-age of membership each year. New senior members will receive re-ceive recognition toward sending send-ing a bonus girl to Girls State as well as the unit with the most granddaughters. The Auxiliary has already reached its quota and every new member mem-ber will count toward this goal. All girls in the junior class at Cedar High School are eligible elig-ible to apply for Girls State. From those applications a committee makes selections of those to attend based on the number of vacancies. Officers of the Auxiliary indicate in-dicate that all girls who are interested should contact Mrs. Vivian Knell, Girls State chairman for the Cedar City unit, who will instruct them on how to apply and the qualifications they must meet to be selected. |
