Show Parowan schools set Pioneer Day observances tcday Both of the schools, Hi0'h and elementary, are celebrating celebrat-ing the 121st birthday of Parowan Par-owan City today, Thursday, with programs fitting for the occasion. The one at the high school will begin at 10:30 and the program will be as follows: fol-lows: Greetings from Principal Richard Dotson, a reading by Sherlynn White, a selection by the music department, talk the speaker of the day, Beverly Taylor a descendant of George A. Smith, who led the Pioneers to Parowan in 1851. Her subject sub-ject will be "They Came to Stay." Then will follow the movie "Impossible Journey." After the program the students stu-dents will move into the gym for a "paper bag" lunch followed fol-lowed by dancing. The seventh graders will square dance to "Oh Johnny", the eighth grade will do a schottische, the ninth gade will do the var-souvienne, var-souvienne, the 10th grade 10 Pretty Girls, the 11th the Danish Dan-ish slideoff and the 12 graders will do a polka. The public Is invited to the 10:30 program. |
